Is there a limit to weight in car booster seats?

So you just bought a new car booster seat for your pre-school child. You quickly install it in the car and are off to the next play date that you have scheduled with one of your friend’s kids.

Is your child safe in their booster seat? It depends on the maximum harness weight.

There is a limit

For some car booster seats the limit is only 40 pounds. Until recently I thought they’d all be rated for at least 100 pounds. I usually ignored those recommendations figuring that it was built for kids and they knew what they were doing.
